Life-changing Way To Go On Vacation Even If You Don't Have A Vacation Budget!
Sometimes, it's okay to admit that you need a vacation! We all need a vacation. School starts to become overwhelming. Work is starting to stress you out and the assignments are piling up. You need to escape the classroom or the office and get away for a few days. According to Forbes, Americans aren't taking half of their vacation days! Where they do this at y'all? Apparently America. I know Europeans are across the Atlantic taking their vacation days. We have to encourage a culture of vacation, not overworking ourselves.
However, you're wondering how you are going to do this when you're still paying off your student loans, or trying to save for a big purchase, or simply you just don't have enough in your paycheck to take a big fancy vacation!
Have you considered a stay-cation? Not in your apartment/house because you end up doing work or cleaning. I mean book a hotel in your closest city. The only travel expense you would have to pay for is the hotel (read below to see how credit card perks can help). I live in South Jersey, about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia. I can tell you I have not seen even 10% of what Philadelphia has to offer in terms of her beauty and history. I decided that whenever I need a weekend break to rest and refresh and I can't travel far, I will take a stay-cation in Philadelphia. I either take 2-3 days depending how much time I have available, and truly rest. Studying is put aside, work laptop closed, and just focusing on my well-being spirit, soul, and body.
Two weeks ago, I booked a stay-cation (that plan foiled because hey work/school/life happens!) at The Bellevue Hotel, which is a Hyatt hotel. I love this hotel! I also stayed here last year for two nights with a friend of mine from church because we were babysitting 4 children of a couple at my church who went on vacation (The Bellevue rooms are so spacious for this!)! Also, as a model in Philadelphia University (now Jefferson - which is #medschoolgoals) fashion galas, we spent hours in the room getting ready. This hotel is a beauty, so historical, and peaceful. It's situated in a perfect spot in Center City Philadelphia, with access to all the sightseeing, shopping, and public transportation to get to other parts of the city. In the lobby and surrounding area, there are great shops! As a guest, you also receive access to The Sporting Club, which has a beautiful top-of-the-line gym, track, and spa among other things.
As a Hyatt Rewards member and Hyatt credit card holder, I received one free night on my card member anniversary. This is one of the awesome perks I received for being a card member last year. I decided it was time for a rest, and so I easily booked my stay online during the week I wanted to stay. I was amazed that it was available. Have you looked up the perks as a Hyatt Rewards member or Hyatt credit card holder? Check out the details and see if it works for you.
If you are in the city of Philadelphia, I encourage you to check out The Bellevue Hotel in Center City on 200 South Broad Street. You will not be disappointed. You will come back to school or your job well-rested, refreshed, and ready to tackle the next season or stepping stone in your life!
